August 2024– While our attention right now is naturally on the November 5th general election, we want to remind you that the election season will continue after that into the Consolidated Election of 2025 when we will elect our local officials. We cannot stress enough the importance of local elections!
Elected officials– mayor, clerk, city council members and school board members– make decisions that directly affect our community. Important decisions on public transit, school quality, affordable housing, policing and public safety, sanitation, water quality, job training programs, economic development, how tax dollars are spent, and much more.
Not only is it important that you vote in the Consolidated Election, but it is also important that we have good quality candidates from which to choose.
Interested in our schools? Want to make a difference and improve education opportunities for the children of our community? Consider running for a seat on the school board! Not for you? Maybe you have a family member or neighbor that would be an asset to the school board. Encourage qualified and interested members of our community to run for a seat on the school board.

July 30– Petition circulation begins
October 21– October 28 Period to file petitions
October 29– November 4 – Petition objection filing
December 19– Ballot certification deadline; establish if a primary election will be held
2025
February 11– Primary early voting begins. Voting by mail begins
February 25– Primary Election Day
March 18– Consolidation Election early voting begins
April 1– Consolidation Election Day
