Imagine having garbage trucks dumping trash and then loading it onto larger trucks all day right behind your backyard, with all the ensuing noise, air, and smell pollution that comes with it.
The League of Women Voters of Evanston will bring panelists to help us understand:
• what has happened at the Church Street Waste Transfer Station and the neighborhoods around it;
• what solutions have been sought in the past;
• difficulties that have arisen along the way;
• improvements and solutions sought for the future; and
• how this is but one example of the environmental injustices that exist in Evanston.
