Thank you to LWVE’s Deputy Registrars
Judy Elsass, Joan Linsenmeier, Holly Heap, Elizabeth Kinney, Gail Weisberg, Lynne Stark, Jennifer O’Neil, Anita Gewurz, Katie O’Neil, Judy Hoffman, Julie Zweigoron and Gerri Sizemore for their dedication and investment of time on September 17 staffing our National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) tables.
Our joint efforts at four different sites generated only nine registrations. However, we did entertain some 40 plus inquiries from voters having to do with questions about the upcoming election cycle — mail-in ballot questions were by far the most popular. And every site reported several voters stopping by to say thank you for the work of the League. Going forward, we need to think about ourselves as both registrars and information sources for the electoral process.
Thanks again to all of our members who worked on NVRD, and to those who have signed up to work at voter registration tables at Connections for the Homeless in the upcoming weeks, for your wonderful representation of the League in our diverse community.
