The League of Women Voters of the United States was a national partner for No Kings protests held across the country on March 28. LWV-Illinois provided a link to approved printable signage and encouraged members to “carry League signs, wear League gear, be loud and proud about the League, just keep it nonpartisan.” Several LWVE members did just that. We joined around 2,000 community members on a chilly but sunny morning for a rally and march at Evanston’s lakefront.
More than one speaker lamented that some things in our country have gotten worse since last year’s rallies. Still, energizing speeches and songs, signs and chants, and informal conversations all encouraged attendees to keep working toward changes they hope to see.
