Pollwatching in Evanston and Skokie– LWVE pollwatchers observed all Evanston and Skokie polling places on Election Day in March, serving as “democracy watchdogs.”
LWVCC Annual Meeting Features State's Attorney– The annual meeting of the League of Women Voters of Cook County took place in May. Read an overview of the business portion and a report on the presentation by the Cook County State’s Attorney.
Climate Corner: • Food Growing in Small Spaces and Food Sharing in Evanston– Attendees braved the cold to learn about growing vegetables in containers and raised beds as well as how to share excess food to reduce greenhouse gases and get food to those who need it most. • Evanston Adopts a Natural Areas Ordinance– A revised City of Evanston ordinance establishes guidelines and protections for six natural areas. Procedures for recognizing additional areas are included too.
Evanston’s “No Kings” Rally and March– LWVE members joined our neighbors at the lakefront to listen, sing, chant, march— and defend democracy.
LWVE 2026 Scholarship Awarded to Eleanor Ghogomu– The LWVE awards an annual scholarship to an ETHS senior. Read about this year’s impressive winner.
